Who We Are
Freight is what we do. All we do.
Yates Freight is a New Zealand family business. We move freight across the North Island: scheduled overnight linehaul between the main centres, metro distribution across the Wellington region, dedicated contract work and specialised loads.
Our strategy is simple, and we hold to it: stick to core business. We help our customers improve their financial performance by enabling their customers to plan with confidence, because they can rely on their goods arriving on time and in original condition, exactly as expected.
That reliability is built on a modern, well-kept fleet — 8 trucks, 2 trailers and a van — disciplined systems, and people who take the job personally.

As General Manager of Yates Freight, and part of the team for over 12 years, I lead the day-to-day operations of our business, ensuring every aspect of our service is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. From fleet management and financial oversight to health and safety, compliance, and customer service, my focus is on driving operational excellence.
Working alongside our Directors, dedicated team, customers, and industry partners, I strive to build strong relationships, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and deliver reliable transport solutions that our customers can trust.

Peg is a cornerstone of our team, boasting more than 20 years of dedicated service with Yates Freight Ltd. With an extensive background as a driver, Peg knows the industry inside out and leads our team of drivers with experience and reliability.
